Curaçao Harbor Tour 1998-2003

Jan 1, 2004 | Photography

The first photograph of this series is made in 1998, when I happened to be on the right spot at the right time. Because of that photograph (‘Watercolors’ or ‘no.1’), which won an award in the exhibition Arte ’99, I was asked to make photographs for the annual report of Curaçao Ports Authorities. I did this during three years (2000, 2001 and 2003), and completed this series of 60 photographs. I like the ones best where it is not immediately obvious what it is, when the side of a ship is like Japanese calligraphy, or a mysterious sunset.
