The theme “New Orientalia” is aimed at exploring the materials, processes and symbolic contents characterizing the Eastern approach to functional ceramics and its influence in the larger context of international contemporary ceramics.

My work, Old Gold New Gold, consists of celadon glazed, porcelain spheres, made in China, representing the new gold, combined with spheres made in my studio in Curaçao, from American clay, treated with gold leaf, representing the old gold.
