Bloom of the Coral Flower

In 2011, I created a large wall relief for the Rooi Catootje branch of Maduro & Curiel’s Bank. Recently, I was commissioned to make a new artwork for the patio on the bank’s first floor.

The first piece, which is mounted on the wall surrounding the elevator shaft, features a clean and abstract composition.

For this new work, which is displayed outdoors next to large planters, I chose to use organic forms.

The artwork represents a fantasy coral flower that gradually opens and then closes again.
