Instituto Buena Bista-Kolegio St Albertus Project, 2011

December 2010 I gave classes at Instituto Bueno Bista, the pre-art academy of Curacao. Their 15 students and 2 apprentices each made a mural of 1 x 1 meter; scenes of the bible in their own interpretation. Two afternoons 30 school kids (grade 7th and 8th) also participated in the project. After drying and firing we installed the murals at the St. Albertus College in Pietermaai, as part of a renovation project by architect Lyongo Juliana. Content development was under guidance of artists (and founders of IBB) David Bade and Tirzo Martha. The translation from 2D into ceramic murals happened under my guidance. After the whole installation process was finished, the murals were officially blessed by Bishop Secco during a gathering with all the school kids participating.
